The 8th and the final Kids’ Fest for the SY 2017-2018 was held in Don Bosco Youth Center Tondo last Saturday, March 10, 2018. It was attended by 163 children from 11 elementary schools within the Vicariate of Sto. Niño in Tondo, Manila.
It appeared to be a gathering of both the catechists and kids from the parishes of Sto. Nino, Don Bosco, Soledad, Good Voyage, San Lorezo Ruiz and San Pablo Apostol. CFAM Coordinators and Staff headed by Sir Leo Asuncion and Sr. Cathy Dones, MCST showed their support to the said event.
Rev. Fr. Jonathan Mojica, a young priest from Sto. Nino Parish presided the celebration of the Holy Eucharist for the children. He gave emphasis on the theme I Connect with JOY. He explained to the children that to connect with JOY is to relate to Jesus, to others, and to you (one’s fellow).
The children were given designated groups which were named after the young saints. They enjoyed the games in the different booths that were prepared for them with the assistance of the CFAM Youth Animators and the Savios and Lauras. Ms. Lita Mactal and Ms. Precy Toong did the recap and discussion of the games for the children to fully understand what they did. An activity (“tsinelas”/ “walk to Jesus”) was done to encourage the children to have their commitment to Jesus as they relate to others and to one another.
The CFAM K-POP group animated the event with their singing and Sir Roque Palero served as the emcee. The children were delighted as they joined the Youth Animators together with the Savios and Lauras in the singing and dancing of the song Dahil Sa’yo. They had their lunch together and had a treat from Jolibee as they went home.
This CFAM Kids’ Fest was made possible by the collective efforts of everybody and just like what it aimed, may each of us become connected to Jesus, to others and to each other. To God be the glory!
