We Are Blessed

After a decade, the National Youth Day was held in Mindanao, the first time in Zamboanga.  November 6, 2017 was the first day, which was full of excitement.  There were 20 host parishes that welcomed the delegates from the different Dioceses all over the Philippines.  The Celebracion dela Santa Eucharistia at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception kicked off the day.  It was presided over by no other than the Archbishop of Zamboanga, Most Rev. Romulo Dela Cruz, D.D.  The good Archbishop acknowledged the young people who are all brave enough to be like Mary by giving their "Yes" to God for this 2017 National Youth Day in Zamboanga.  He said that the mighty one continues to do great things for us and we believe in our God and the intercessory prayer of our Mother Mary.  He also gave a special thanks to the Parish Priests, the families, youth volunteers, the city Mayor and staff for welcoming the delegates with joy.  He also thanked the Task Force of Zamboanga and the Philippine National Police for maintaining the peace and order around the city. Fr. Noli Fransisco, chancellor of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga, read the message of Pope Francis to the participants of the National Youth Day.  In His letter, the Pope challenges the young people to become missionary disciples, to be aware and be committed to the Church just like our Mother Mary.
