We Are Flawed

The second day of the National Youth Day 2017 started with the Morning Prayer followed by the first Plenary Session with the theme "I am flawed" with Fr. Ro Atilano, SJ as speaker.  He encouraged the participants to see the realities the young people are facing nowadays. Young people are wounded, lonely, empty and disconnected. Everyone desperately longs for healing, for love and for forgiveness.  The good things that we are looking for can only be found in God, by wanting and desiring for His love. We are not worthy, yet we are called by God.  A group sharing immediately followed the talk.

After lunch, the pilgrims went to their assigned "NYD Run".  The NYD Run is inspired by Mary's desire to accompany her cousin Elizabeth upon learning from angel Gabriel that she was pregnant at her old age (Luke 1:39-40).  It's main objective is to immerse the young people to the different realities in life such as social, cultural, religious, moral and environmental concerns. The pilgrims were encouraged to be open and have a prayerful disposition: be aware of their inner movements by using the NYD Lens: See- Pray -Reflect - Judge- Act.  There was a "Gran Procession Mariana", a Marian procession headed to Fort Pilar Shrine for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.  Day two was ended with the noche dela familia (a dinner with the host family).
