WORLD YOUTH DAY (JMJ) is a global event that brings together young Catholics from around the world to celebrate their faith, engage in spiritual activities, and foster a sense of unity and solidarity. World Youth Day aims to inspire young people to actively participate in their faith, deepen their relationship with God, and promote dialogue among diverse cultures and traditions.
This biennial event is scheduled to take place in the vibrant city of Lisbon,
Portugal, offering a unique opportunity for young people to come together and embrace diversity while strengthening their shared beliefs.
World Youth Day 2023 will happen from August 1 - 6, 2023.
It is an international gathering of Youth and young adults from all over the world to celebrate the diversity and global love of the Catholic Church.
The theme of World Youth Day 2023 Is taken from the Bible verse
MARY AROSE AND WENT WITH HASTE (LK 1:39) Which opens the account of the visitation, when Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, following the angel’s announcement to the Blessed Mother that She would be the Mother of the Son of God.
This Bible passage was chosen by Pope Francis as the Motto or theme of World Youth Day 2023.
The image or logo that we saw is the official logo of the said event, and this image reflects the theme that Pope Francis chose: Mary arose and went with haste. (LK 1:39)
Acording to the Vatican News, Over 400,000 young people have registered all over the world and on August 2, 2023, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, is scheduled to visit and participate in the celebration, and excited to see and be with all young people in the World Youth Day 2023.
