It is always wonderful to have this opportunity to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit at the beginning of the year.  New school years are filled with hope and excitement.

Last June 25, 2018, at the Parish of San Felipe Neri in Mandaluyong City, we, the Catechists of the Archdiocese of Manila proudly wear red and white as we invoke the blessings of the Holy Spirit upon our catechetical work in the year ahead. Together with some students from nearby schools, we took time together to pray for divine intervention and guidance. Rev. Fr. Rey Anthony Yatco the vicar forane of the Vicariate of San Felipe Neri and parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Mandaluyong, spearheaded the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo, CFAM Minister, Fr. Ramon Merino, the parish priest of San Felipe Neri Parish, and Fr. Hans Magdurulang his parochial vicar joined him.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit was a powerful experience to everybody. The homily delivered by the main celebrant was so direct emphasizing that the gift of the Holy Spirit helps us to be unafraid of any challenges ahead.  Indeed the Mass of the Holy Spirit is an opportunity to experience God in times of seemingly confusing situation. May the Holy Spirit take away our fears, and make us bold disciples in any which way we can as we offer our life for you (Church) for you (our neighbors) and for you (ourselves). To God be the Glory!
